The Pre-K classes after the tour of the Carver Ambulance
Field trips are an educational and entertaining part of the Curriculum and themes at CAPT PAL Preschool. Both the preschool and pre-kindergarten classes enjoy trips to the Carver Library where they have a special story and song time with the children's librarian. This is followed by some fresh air and play time at the Town Playground. We also walk across the street to the Fire Station where we get to learn all about fire safety, climb on the fire engines, and shoot the fire hoses! The Pre-K classes also get a special tour behind the scenes at the Carver Post Office, mail our Mother's Day cards, and learn how the mail gets delivered. The Carver Ambulance visits us in Shurtleff Park where two of our Dads, who are EMTs, give us a tour of the Ambulance. These field trips are all part of our Community Helpers theme. In addition, parents are always welcome to come and share their jobs with us. We have had police officers, restaurant managers, nurses, dental hygienists, tractor trailer truck drivers, and a race car driver----just to name a few---share with us what they do.
The Pre-K classes enjoy a special visit from the Rainforest Reptile Show as part of our Reptiles and Dinosaurs unit. They also visited Soule Farm in Middleboro where we learned about the animals and helped to do some planting in the Children's garden.
